School Dayz for Harrison

Harrison has spent quite a bit of his camp time at school. He was an excellent student!

Harrison at the Farm

Harrison has now met all the residents of the 7 Acre Wood.  He has been quite intrigued with them all. He has also found that there are lots of interesting smells on a farm and lots of room to run!!

We have spent quite a bit of time just sitting and watching the chickens. No pictures of that. He is too overwhelmed if he gets too close.  We’re working on being calm. It is sooo difficult!

Skateboarding and Puppy Camp

Southeastern Guide Dogs asks that their puppies in training spend about 3 weeks away from their assigned puppy raiser home. This provides the pup with a whole new range of experiences. That means camp time for these 9 month olds! So, our Dallas group got together at the Allen Skate Park for some fun with skateboards and bikes and skates and then we traded pups. What a confusing time for pups and raisers alike! Adjusting to new personalities! Whew!!

Electra has gone to stay with Harrison’s family and Harrison is at our house learning to be a farm dog. He is a Goldador (Lab/Golden cross) about 2 weeks older than Electra.

Thanks to Missy Griffy, Melissa Leslie, and Troy Ledbetter for the great pictures! And if you mouse over each picture you should get some captions. Next up – Life with Harrison!

Road Tripping – Part 1

Electra has become a road warrior. She has earned a gold medal for sure! We went on a week long road trip from Texas – through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and into North Carolina. The return trip took us through Tennessee and Arkansas.

The trip involved LONG hours in the car, nights in motels and with family, and lots of sight seeing. Electra was a real trooper. In and out of the car. In and out of her jacket. In and out of public restrooms. In and out of all sorts of new places.

We spent a night with family in the mountains of North Carolina and got a tour of the golf course. Our Saucy Sister cousin and her hubby were quite gracious hosts. And provided Electra with her 1st CAT and CART experiences! Whew!
